RE: Stay at Home/Safer at Home Protocols

Yesterday it was announced that beginning April 27th Colorado will move out of the Stay at Home protocols to Safer at Home protocols. As Colorado residents who live in the same neighborhoods we own and do business in, Dina and I are committed to your safety and the safety of our neighbors and employees. We are also dedicated to slowing and stopping the spread of COVID-19. Here are some important things we would like to communicate to you, our faithful and valuable customers:

Can You Provide Your Services Virtually?

Yes, we continue to offer virtual consultations in lieu of in home consultations (via Zoom, FaceTime, Duo, etc.). These virtual consultations have been very successful in helping our customers get their projects started under Stay at Home and now Safer at Home protocols. Your home is unique, and since every window treatment custom-made, we know that one size does not fit all. Yet in some situations, we have been able to proceed without ever requiring a visit in the home. Other times, we will schedule a final measurement after you have selected window treatments, colors, etc. We can even ship sample swatches directly to your home or drop off sample books. Schedule your time with us, and we will walk you through all the options.

Can I Visit You in the Showroom?

Previously, under Stay at Home protocol, we closed our showroom to the public. Now, under Safer at Home, we will allow customers to transact business in the showroom by appointment only. Whether reviewing final samples, stopping by to pick up temp shades for your home, or handling payment or financing, we are here for you. We are abiding by social distancing policy and will only allow a limited number of people in the building at any given time. Therefore, we are staggering our appointment times. We are not accepting any walk-up business in the showroom due to staffing restrictions. Call us and we will accommodate your schedule with ours.

Are You Willing to Do Work In My Home While I’m Here?

Although the State is relaxing some restrictions at this time, we are not relaxing any of our established protocols. We are now performing installations and virtual consultations every day, so we are keenly aware of what the proper precautions are to stop the spread.

During this COVID-19 pandemic we have adopted a work method of strictly no contact, social distancing, masks and gloves, and routine disinfecting. This is on-site at our office as well as when we do need to visit your home or workplace. The new Safer at Home protocol does not change this for us. As long as the spread of COVID-19 is still a threat, we will be vigilant in managing your safety, the safety of our employees and of those who serve us (such as deliveries to our office).

If you can guarantee a controlled environment, i.e. there is no one manifesting any symptoms in the home, and we can limit the customer presence in the home at the time of installation, we can proceed with installations or in home consultations. We have had customers allow our highly skilled staff in their homes and then leave to walk the dog or otherwise enjoy the Colorado outdoors, etc. Others have sequestered in an area of the home we will not be working in while we are there. Others have allowed us access for final measurements or even installations via lock box and they are not on premises. The bottom line is, we respect you and your home or office, and are working hard during Safer at Home to maintain a safe work environment.

What Steps Have You Taken to Ensure Your Customers’ and Your Employee’s Safety?

Budget Blinds of Greater Colorado Springs was first impacted by COVID-19 back in January with manufacturing delays, and since then our management team progressively developed a comprehensive response plan to COVID-19 as it came closer to home. We issued our initial protocols in early March and increased our vigilance when coronavirus was first reported in the State. We have complied with all Stay at Home protocols and are strongly adhering to all CDC and State mandates as it relates to COVID-19 during Safer at Home.

We follow a strictly no-touch policy. For example, if you are paying by credit card, we have a new payment method available so we can be touch-free (we simply text a payment link to your mobile device where you can securely pay via credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or whatever your preference). When installing new product, we are wearing masks and clean gloves (that we recycle) so the new product in your home is safe for use immediately upon our departure. If we need to show samples in the home on a consultation, we disinfect the books, handles, etc. before and after each touch. In fact, we are even limiting our office/showroom to no more than 3-4 people on site at a time and we are cleaning and disinfecting multiple times a day. We are requiring our employees not to ride in a vehicle together during this time. For example, we send installers in separate vehicles to all installations even if they are traveling to the same location. We take our employee’s health very seriously; all our employees are full-time and we provide them with comprehensive health benefits, so if a staff member were to manifest any COVID-19 symptoms, they have access to immediate health advice or care.
