We have provided this list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for your benefit as you consider purchasing from Budget Blinds, or you have recently purchased and are awaiting installation. Please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com or 719-301-7171.
I have purchased window treatments from Budget Blinds, what happens next?
Typically most window treatments are received by us 2 ½ – 3 weeks after you place your order. All window treatments are custom made. If, for some unexpected reason, your order is going to be delayed (product outage, item backordered, etc.), we will contact you to keep you up to speed on the status of your order. As soon as we receive your order, we will contact you within 1 business day to schedule your installation.
Shutters however, are equivalent to a custom piece of furniture that is being crafted for your home so they usually take up to 6-8 weeks to receive.
What do I need to do before my installation appointment?
We ask that any existing window treatments be removed before we arrive. Also, any furniture is to be moved away from windows where installation is happening. Installations take anywhere from 30 minutes to up to several hours depending on the number of windows and the products purchased. We will give you our best estimate as to the length of your appointment when we schedule. We remove all trash that is associated with your installation and thoroughly clean up after ourselves before we leave your home. Removal and haul away of old window treatments can be done for a surcharge and must be arranged in advance of installation.
Additionally, if a balance is owed on the invoice please be prepared to pay this to our installer.
How do I care for my window treatments?
We will cover cleaning and care and leave you with a copy of the instructions after the installation is complete.
What is the Manufacturer’s Limited Lifetime Warranty?
Most manufacturers that we partner with provide a lifetime warranty on their product. The specifics can change company to company, but essentially all manufacturers warrant that your product will be free from original defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product.
That said, all materials can lose original color intensity or discolor after long exposure to the sun. When left for extended periods in direct sunlight, some materials may yellow or crack. Some materials may warp in high-humidity areas. All cords will eventually wear out. With very few exceptions, manufacturers consider these things normal wear and tear and are not covered by the Limited Lifetime warranty. But you’re still covered by our exclusive No Questions Asked Warranty (see below).
You will be provided warranty information specific to your products at time of installation.
What is the “No Questions Asked” warranty?
In addition to the manufacturer’s warranty Budget Blinds adds a No Questions Asked (NQA) warranty on all of your new window treatments (If included in your purchase). This exclusive warranty available only through Budget Blinds is added to every* product we install at no additional cost to you (*exception: Lutron and The Window Outfitters do not come with a NQA Warranty). This is the best warranty in the industry and you receive it as a Budget Blinds customer for FREE.
If, for any reason, within 5 years from the date of purchase, your product should be damaged or become inoperable after the point of installation (e.g. weather, accidents, pets etc.), the manufacturer will provide a “no questions asked,” ONE-TIME repair or replacement, free of charge. This NQA warranty extends to Lifetime for certain products and/or manufacturers (e.g. Enlightened Style). If your product is replaced, the replacement will be of the same product in the same size and color. This warranty is provided to the original purchaser only and for the original window opening only. (Note: Each unique window treatment installed in your home has its own NQA warranty.)
Automation products are not covered by the No Questions Asked Warranty. Most motors in the industry have a 3-year warranty but some extend up to 7-years.
What is the Service Guarantee?
If included in your purchase, the Service Guarantee gives you peace of mind about two things 1) the operation and installation of the product you have purchased and 2) the work we perform in your home.
Should you have any issues with your window treatments we will do everything we can to make sure you are 100% satisfied. Just give us a call if you have any questions or concerns regarding your purchase/installation. We will come to you free of charge (i.e. no trip or repair fees) for the duration of the Guarantee.
What if I’m not happy with the window treatments I’ve selected?
You are purchasing custom made window treatments. We do our very best to help you make decisions including style, color, patterns, control mechanisms, mounting etc. If, after installation you are not satisfied with your choice in window treatments, Budget Blinds of Southwest Colorado Springs will split the cost of whichever new product(s) you would like to replace it with. We call this our “50/50 Policy.” If you choose to replace the product you purchased with something new (for example: change of color preference) we will “split” the cost with you by discounting the price on the new product by 50%. This is our additional assurance to that you will be satisfied and treated with respect.
What happens if I cannot get in touch with you?
Budget Blinds is Top 10 ranked, 25-year old company with a stellar reputation in the Window Treatment industry.
